ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role of Senior Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring effective risk management and risk governance in Greece and serves as the point person for the risk management activities in the country.
The risk function covers a diverse portfolio of risks including insurance, credit, market/ALM, liquidity, operational, and strategic. The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for working with the Regional Director of Risk Management and the local management team to oversee that risks are managed in accordance with the overall risk culture and risk management framework adopted by Alico's Board and the risk management framework for the Region adopted by the Regional Risk Committee and local Board and Risk Committee requirements.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Qualifications:
University graduate
Professionally qualified and/or relevant post graduate education completed, e.g. ACCA, CIMA, MBA, IRM, CII, Investment/Portfolio management qualification
Fluent in English
Experience:
Prior experience of implementing and managing risk frameworks and reporting
Extensive Financial services experience
5 years experience within a Risk Management function
Experience of reporting at Executive level process improvement and/or experience of delivering change
Skills:
Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building, influencing and communication skills. Ability to work at all levels of the organisation, including Executive
Builds relationships through understanding others and stimulating collaboration
Solves problems - able to analyse issues, develop solutions and take ownership to deliver
Focuses on results - role requires an attention to detail to ensure a high quality reporting output
Builds credibility - through commercial and technical knowledge. Uses this knowledge to challenge the data and action plans submitted by the business
Self-motivated
Knowledge:
Good understanding of Risk Management frameworks and process
Good understanding of assurance and distribution
Excellent understanding of current and emerging issues in the insurance industry, risk management and the regulatory environment relating to risk management
