IT Systems Administrator - Costa Navarino - Messinia

Navarino Dunes, located in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese and comprising Starwood Hotels and Resorts Luxury Collection and Westin Hotels offering 766 rooms, a Championship Golf Course, a conference center for 2000 people, and a destination Thalassotherapy-Spa will open mid 2010. The resort will feature a selection of specialty dining and retail experiences, supported by significant value added facilities within and beyond the resort to create unique experiences for the local and global traveler in the group and leisure markets.

We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator, highly motivated, responsible for all aspects of systems administration including networks, applications, databases, and telecommunications. He/She will responsible for:

Supporting the IT Manager in planning, implementation and day-to-day operations of all hotel technology components, processes and related areas
To ensure the professional and effective running of the day-to-day technology operation in accordance with all Brand Service, Global and Divisional Technology Standards and in line with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Policies and Procedures
Support Corporate, Divisional and Regional technology projects and requirements
Take a role in positively supporting the operation of the hotel, reinforcing a customer focused approach to hotel operations at all times while supporting all corporate technology requirements and initiatives as appropriate

Further responsibilities:
Maintain clear communication and information exchange between hotel and area/regional staff to ensure optimum sharing of technology issues and solutions
Maintain, implement and adhere to all Starwood standard policies, systems and procedures relating to technology operations
Provide clear project and change management programs, schedules and communications as required for all system changes
Ensure quality of data is maintained with all systems including ensuring all systems are properly backed-up as standards require
Ensure all security, data-protection and data-privacy requirements are met to the best level possible
Ensure smooth technology operations for all associates and assist in ensuring all guest-facing technologies meet service level agreements with external suppliers
Ensure effective channels of data and voice telecommunications are in place maximizing the opportunities of distributing information available
Co-ordinate effective training to enable all staff to carry out their use of technology systems to a high degree of effectiveness
Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements
At least 2-3 years of experience in the Hotel Industry preferred.

Candidates must also possess the following qualifications:
Must be fluent in Greek and English
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent knowledge and experience in network infrastructure
Degree from IEK or TEI preferred
Good knowledge of Cisco Networking, Microsoft technologies. Desired relevant training and certifications
Knowledge of voice and data network technologies
Knowledge of General hotel operations
Opera PMS Micros Fidelio and POS products technical Support
